Testing Full Gallery Placement + Lighting

Installing The Reconstruction of Sculpture:

  • The screw rods go with the other mechanical details up there - and match the screw rods up there.
  • The rectangle bars slot nicely over this to hide the rods before the bolt, and go with the look of the frame.

Installing Resin Piece

  • Measuring it so it's central

  • Placing it exactly central, or as central as I could make it look, to the other two art works.

Testing Lighting

  • Lighting the canvas. I tested multiple positions for the spotlights until I was happy with the two spot lights either side that shone across the canvas to light and reflects the silver leaf.

  • Light shining across the surface, but no light directly above this piece as it would be too much.

  • Adding two spotlights to hit the top of this canvas. This worked to create depth, pick up the distortion and bends in the metal, and light the very top which was more in shadow because of the opposing window.

Installing Vinyl

  • I kept all the vinyl central, and each of the titles central to each other, so everything is in one central line from this point.

Lighting the back of the canvas:

  • I bought an extra clip on light as I wasn't happy with the amount of light hitting the back of the canvas.
  • I positioned this at the top of the support beam so it shone on the back, testing out different positions until I got the best lighting to pick up the details on the back.
  • I needed to make the viewer aware that this wasn't just the back of the artwork but in fact another image itself.

Final Installation View:

  • Professional set up. I am very happy with the layout of my work and the full installation. It is exactly how I wanted it to be, and feel that I couldn't have done it any differently.
